Biography

Jonna HamiltonAs the head of SAFE’s policy team, Jonna Hamilton is responsible for developing detailed, comprehensive energy policy proposals dedicated to enhancing U.S. energy security. She oversees the production of policy papers and briefs, and works to develop strategies to enact SAFE’s proposals.

Hamilton worked on energy policy for Senator Dorgan for almost 3 years, working to implement policy ideas, many of them coming from SAFE. She also was an AAAS Science and Technology Fellow with Senator Durbin for a year and at the US Department of Agriculture working on biofuels for the Foreign Agricultural Service. She also worked at the National Academy of Sciences on a study investigating the energy use of different transportation options.

Hamilton received her Ph.D. from the Brown University in May 2006, her Master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and her Bachelor’s degree from Eckerd College. While at Brown, she was a Fulbright Fellow to Iceland.
