Content Management Specialist — NY

DUTIES:
Perform operational and development tasks in support of the Scitation online service and other web services and online products. Manage and maintain online content including online journals, multi-publication digital libraries, eCommerce storefronts, web sites, and web services. Build, test, and implement new online services.Assist in maintaining service integrity and performance reliability. Act as customer liaison for operational issues related to online products

QUALIFICATIONS:

B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent experience required. Electronic (for print) or online publishing background preferred, including three (3) years of experience with web-based publishing technologies. Practicing knowledge of email and FTP required. Advanced skills with Dreamweaver, Photoshop/Fireworks, or Adobe CS3 a must. Command of authoring using CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and JSP required. Familiarity with SGML, and XML/XSLT, file formats necessary. Must have working experience with Windows-based personal computers (additional Macintosh experience a plus). Familiarity with UNIX systems, Oracle and MySQL databases, multimedia, and eCommerce applications desirable. Ajax and Tiles a plus. Must possess strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with external customers, society and publisher representatives, in-house publishing staff, and technical professionals.
