Software Architect — NY

DUTIES:
Research and develop the architecture of cache, failover and mirror sites as they pertain to our 24x7 systems and services. Work with business units to define strategies and gain requirements for mirror site development. Work with the various database and content systems at AIP and define and develop strategies to mirror data between data centers. Tasks include software installation, resource allocation and project coordination. Research new products, technologies, tools and methods to enable AIP to provide mirrored services to their customers. Requires knowledge of database systems, current hardware and networking technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Minimum of eight years programming experience in a current language, and database knowledge is required. Knowledge of systems and software architecture is a must, including the ability to select applicable software. Knowledge of Web technology such as Application servers, Apache and CGI programming including HTML is a plus. Must demonstrate ability to perform systems analysis. Knowledge of modern programming methodologies and OOD tools is desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
