The
Industrial Physics Forum (IPF) is a "meeting of the
minds" in physics. sponsor the conference and bring
leaders from across the field into the mix of participants.
Industry executives, research managers, academics, and
science policy decision makers convene annually to keep
current on the themes and issues affecting the physics
community. Each year a different AIP Corporate Associate
company or organization hosts the IPF, and opens the doors
of its facilities for tours.
The first day of the forum is comprised
of the Theme Session. The theme is closely related to
the expertise of the host company. The latest techniques
in physics applied by the host company in research and
development are examined in detail. During afternoon laboratory
tours, participants observe techniques and technologies
applied by the host company in R&D. The second day
of the meeting is features a Policy Session, which examines
issues and current trends affecting the physics industry,
and a Frontiers in Physics session, which delves into
'hot topics' in the field.
The 2005 IPF, hosted by Hosted by
,
Gaithersburg, MD, will examine Advancing Infrastructure
for Innovation.
The IPF is designed to keep the segments
of the physics community talking to one another, by fostering
the sharing of knowledge, collaboration, and communication.
The IPF is an opportunity to meet other industry leaders
and to keep aware of the inroads and advancements of physics
and physics-related issues.
