Jonas (Jon) Bereisa, Jr.
Mr. Bereisa joined GM in 1974 and has held numerous executive positions in new technology development throughout his career. He was responsible for the architecture and the development of GM’s engine control microcomputers for emissions and fuel economy which were an industry first application across all GM cars in 1981. He subsequently led teams that applied microcomputers and touch screen displays to transmission controls, entertainment and comfort systems, and early navigation systems for GM cars and trucks. He was also responsible for the development of computerized diagnostic tools and service information networks for GM dealerships nationwide in 1989. Prior to GM, Mr. Bereisa was at Collins Radio and Aerojet General Corporation where he was involved in the development of missile, aircraft and space borne guidance computers and systems. At Aerojet Nuclear Rocket Company he was co-inventor of the first MOSFET power transistor and its application to digital inverter controls of induction motor actuators for the NASA/AEC NERVA Nuclear Rocket Engine program. Mr Bereisa has been a consultant in semiconductor device physics and radiation effects. He has also served on various startup company boards. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1967 and with a Master’s Degree in 1970 and Professional Degree in 2007 in Electrical Engineering. |
