AIP Industrial Outreach and AIP Corporate Associates

General AtomicsMission

As the core of the overall AIP Industrial Outreach efforts, the AIP Corporate Associates Program promotes the physics community through connections between the people, ideas, and resources of its member companies.

Members of the AIP Corporate Associates gain unique insights into competitive business and corporate R&D strategies, as well as privileged access to a wealth of AIP resources, Physics Today Online, Career Networks, and Scitation® search engine - all aimed at improving the bottom line.

How it works

This is accomplished through dynamic dialogues among combined leadership from industry (such as GE and Agilent) from academe (such as MIT and The Johns Hopkins University), and from government research groups (such as NIST and the Jefferson Laboratories).

The Corporate Associates sponsors annual Industrial Physics Forums and carries out activities intended to facilitate information exchange within the industrial physics community. Companies benefit from membership through access to programs and resources that keep their executives, managers, and scientists up-to-date on research developments in the physical sciences. Members regularly exchange ideas with colleagues facing similar research and business challenges.

AIP Corporate Associates collaborates with industrial elements in each of the ten physics member societies, such as the American Physical Society Forum on Industrial and Applied Physics, an organization of more than 5,000 professional physicists in government, industry and the university research communities.
