Breast Cancer Blood Test
Early Trials Show Accuracy of Protein Test
Oncologists have found in early clinical trials that testing the blood levels of nuclear matrix protein number 66 (NMP-66) accurately identified women with invasive breast cancer. NMP-66 is shed into the blood stream as cancer cells grow their nuclear structure changes. Researchers are now analyzing results from a larger study.
