Biophysicists Create Contraceptive Microbicide That May Block Some STDs

Early studies have shown that a new microbicide called Buffer Gel might also protect against sexually transmitted diseases. The gel maintains the vagina's normal acidity level, which is toxic to sperm and germs and could provide an alternative to condom use.
