Longer Lasting Bypass

Cardiac Surgeons Improve Quality Of Vein Grafts

Bypass surgery uses veins grafted from the patient's leg, but these grafts often fail because the vein reacts to its new environment by building up an abnormal amount of cells, which reduce blood flow. The new E2F decoy drug blocks the progression of the excess cells. As a result, the new vessel resembles a healthy artery.
