Hot Therapy for Bone Tumors

Neuroradiologists Use Radio Frequency Heating In New Treatment

A new minimally invasive procedure cooks bone tumors away. Doctors use a CAT scan to guide a needle to the center of the tumor, then send radio-frequency energy through the needle to generate heat and destroy the tumor. While traditional methods usually involve major surgery and lengthy recovery times, the new procedure takes minutes, and allows most patients to go home the same day.
