The Nose Knows

Otolaryngologists Diagnose Sinusitis with Electronic Nose

The "electronic nose," or e-Nose, is a new device that detects molecules released by bacteria that would indicate a sinus infection. The data is downloaded to a computer and compared to bacteria known to cause sinusitis. If doctors find a match, then they can confirm the diagnosis.
