This is going to be a busy year for Congress. The election this
November serves as an important incentive for Congress to conclude
its business on time. In addition, the Democratic and Republican
conventions this summer will reduce the time that Congress is in
session.
Use the following calendar to plan trips to Washington to meet with
senators and representatives. Usually Members of Congress are in Washington
on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Also consider meeting with your
senators or representative when they are in their local office. Such
appointments are likely to be longer and less prone to interruption
from hearings or floor votes. Guidance on meeting with a Member of Congress,
with links to locators for the House and Senate can be found on the
AIP Science Policy site
