February 15 - 19 Presidents’ Day Recess

March 29 - April 9 Spring Recess

May 31 - June 4 Memorial Day Recess

July 5 - July 9 Independence Day Recess

August 9 - September 10 Summer Recess

September 17 Yom Kippur begins

October 1 Fiscal Year 2011 begins

October 8 House target adjournment date (no Senate date has been set)

October 11 Columbus Day federal holiday

November 2 Election Day

November 11 Veterans’ Day federal holiday

November 25 Thanksgiving Day federal holiday

December 1 Hanukkah begins

Generally, during weeks that the House and Senate meet, Members are most likely to be in Washington on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
