Was a Fellow at Harvard University, California Institute of Technology, a professor at Stanford University and Johns Hopkins University, and a research associate for Eastman Kodak Company. A biochemist who conceived of the idea of hydrogen bonding and made many theoretical contributions to crystal chemistry.
