He was Niels Bohr's assistant from 1952-1962, and after Bohr's death, he worked at the Belfer Graduate School of Science at Yeshiva University. His 1966 doctoral thesis was published in 1968 as Quantum Physics and the Philosophical Tradition by The MIT Press.
