Historical Note

This professional society of teachers of physics in colleges, universities, and secondary schools, was established in 1930 to advance the teaching of physics and further the appreciation of the role of physics in society and culture. It was a founding Member Society of the American Institute of Physics.

Scope and Contents of Collection

A collection of reports from the editor of the American Journal of Physics. Items include summary reports from the editor, editor's reports from the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) Publications Committee, and a folder of miscellaneous editor's files including correspondence and editorials. The collection also contains clippings from the cartoon strip "Fox Trot," as Robert Romer was featured several times as a character in the strip.
