Biographical Note

Physical chemist (physics and chemistry of surfaces). On the technical research staff at Merck and Co. (1946-1951); Yardney Laboratories, Inc. (1951-1955); the adhesives laboratory at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1956-1964); and Horizons Inc. (1964-1970).

Scope and Contents of Collection

Collection includes notebooks; manuscript drafts; correspondence with editors on his publications and with colleagues on research; early reprints; and an unpublished paper with referee comments. Topics include friction, adhesive joints, foam, and thermodynamics of surfaces. Correspondents include: George L. Clark, Mayo D. Hersey and Victor K. LaMer.
