Library rules and regulations:* In consideration of the extension to me by the Director of the Center for History of Physics of the privilege of using for scholarly purposes archival materials in the Niels Bohr Library at the American Institute of Physics, I agree to the following: 1. I shall not quote from any of the materials to which I am given access without the permission of the proprietor of the literary rights to that material and I recognize that, should I wish to so quote, it is my obligation to obtain such permission from the proprietor of those rights.
2. I shall paraphrase the material only in such detail as is essential to a just expression of its historical and scientific substance.
3.I agree to give credit to the Niels Bohr Library, Center for History of Physics, at the American Institute of Physics, whenever documentary source material from the Library is quoted, or summarized, or otherwise used in a publication.
4. If I am allowed to copy, or to have copies made of any of the documents, in whole or in part, by microfilming or other techniques (including copying by hand), I shall use the copies only for scholarly purposes and subject to the preceding restrictions. Moreover, I shall not allow any copied material to pass into the hands of others without the written consent of the Director of the American Institute of Physics.
5. I agree to deposit a copy of the published results of the research with the Niels Bohr Library, Center for the History of Physics, at the American Institute of Physics.

Library manuscript rules: I agree to the following regulations:

1. Fill out the call slip legibly and completely; it will be a matter of permanent record. Be sure to print your full name and complete address. Sign your name when the archival materials have been brought to you. Your signature will then acknowledge your responsibility for the archival material.
2. All archival materials must be used at the tables in the Niels Bohr Library. Never fold, re-arrange, or otherwise disturb the physical state of the archival materials. Pens may not be used while working with archival materials.
3. No facsimile reproduction of archival materials may be made without permission from Library staff. Researchers may not reproduce more than one-third of any collection. (See photocopying procedures for further information.)
4. Records 25 years old or less of the American Institute of Physics, its Member Societies, or other organizations will never be photocopied except with the permission of an officer of the depositing organization.
5. No food, beverages, or smoking are permitted in the Reading Room.
