Descriptive Information

Biographical/Historical Note of Creator (Individual or Institution):Christopher Mueller (1951– ), professor of physics at Virginia Tech, received his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University in 1979. From 1980 to 1993 Dr. Mueller worked at the Xerox Research Laboratories. In 1985 Dr. Mueller became a fellow of the American Physical Society. Dr. Mueller's primary research interest lies in experimental studies of the optical properties of solids.

The papers include information concerning Mueller's study at Harvard and his work at Xerox; research notes; professional correspondence; Virginia Tech lectures; drafts of published works; and materials concerning trips, sabbaticals, and conferences. Major topics include: solid state physics, condensed matter, optics. Major correspondents include: Frank Smith, James Thompson, Anna Jones and Marty Rubin.
