IRS change and what this means for your donations
Katrina Emergency Tax Relief Act

Because of the Katrina Emergency Tax Relief Act passed in September, 2005, donors may write off up to 100% of their adjusted gross income (AGI) for cash donations made to any 501(c)(3) charity such as the History Center from August 28 until December 31, 2005. Usually donors may only write off up to 50% of their AGI in deductions for charitable gifts.
