Society of American Archivists
Invited to Visit AIP

The 1995 annual meeting of the Society of American Archivists will be held in Washington, D.C. from August 28 through September 3. We're looking forward to many old and new friends visiting us at our new College Park facility during the meeting. A joint tour of AIP's Center for History of Physics and Niels Bohr Library and archives and special collections at the University of Maryland is being planned for the afternoon of Wednesday, August 30.

Tour participants will travel by bus first to the University of Maryland's College Park campus, where they'll visit the Department of Archives and Manuscripts, the National Public Broadcasting Archives and the International Piano Archives. They will then travel by bus to the American Institute of Physics, which is located about a mile from campus, for light refreshments and a tour of the Center and Library. (Everyone interested in the tour should be sure to sign up for it when completing the SAA registration form.)

In addition to the tour, the Niels Bohr Library reading room will be open as usual from 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM, Monday through Friday during the meeting. The American Institute of Physics is easily accessible from Washington by car and is about a ten minute walk from the College Park Metro station. Phone or e-mail for directions.
