| Academic Partners of the Center for History of Physics The Center for History of Physics has established a new membership category for academic institutions that value its work and are willing to make small annual donations for a number of years. The group is called the “Academic Partners for the Center for History of Physics.” The CHP Development Committee recently set out to solicit memberships. Trial invitations were sent personally to twelve physics departments and the response was enthusiastic: ten immediately committed to join. The Center’s Development Committee is in the process of contacting more institutions to see if they would like to join this partnership. If you would like more information about this program, or if you would like to help out in contacting institutions (which the CHP makes quite painless) please contact Dan Kleppner (kleppner@mit.edu) or John Rigden (jrigden@aip.org). If you are an academic institution and are interested in learning more about this partnership, please send an email to historyfriends@aip.org or call 301-209-3006.
