U.S. Attendees: Visa application information is here. U.S. citizens should apply for a TOURIST visa at least ONE MONTH BEFORE they are scheduled to depart for Brazil. Tourist visas may be obtained by mail.

To apply for a tourist visa, you will need a series of documents including flight information, passport and an invitation letter. Please see this list for information on all of the necessary documents.

In order to obtain your mandatory invitation letter to apply for your tourist visa, please e-mail the following information to Isnard Magnus (Isnard [at] fapesp [dot] br) as soon as possible and he will then send you your invitation letter:

  1. Your name as it appears in your passport
  2. Your position at your place of work
  3. Institutional address
  4. E-mail
  5. Passport information (issuing country, number, date of issue, date of expiration and date of birth)

Fee to enter Brazil: Depending on your country of citizenship, there might be an entrance fee to enter Brazil. Please research this in advance.

Due to the generosity of our sponsors, there is no fee for conference registration.

Financial aid (for travel)

If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please complete a second registration through ICTP. The link to apply for financial aid is at the bottom of the ICTP  web page and will take you to the ICTP Online Applications System. Once you have registered through ICTP, your application will be considered for financial aid and no further action is necessary on your part.

Lodging, Venue, and Flight Information

Please email the hotel with your reservation request and let the hotel know you are attending the Industrial Physics Forum in order to learn the conference rate. Each hotel has free wifi and a small additional charge for breakfast. There will be transportation from each hotel to and from the conference site. For more information click here.

The conference venue will be at the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas - Universidade Estadual de Campinas.

The closest airport to the conference venue is Viracopos in Campinas. However, most international flights will go to Guarulhos (GRU) the international airport of São Paulo. São Paulo is about 70 miles from Campinas.  It is not worth taking a connecting flight from São Paulo to Campinas.  There are busses that go from Guaruhos Airport to Campinas downtown.
