Message from the Editors

Dear Colleague,P. Craig Taylor and John A. Turner

We're excited to close out our second volume of Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy. The past couple of months have been a busy time for promoting the journal—we were exhibiting at the MRS Fall Meeting and the AGU Winter Meeting. There was great interest in the journal from researchers representing a large variety of the topics that these meetings cover.  Thank you all for stopping by. Look for us at a meeting near you!

Besides publishing several interesting articles in Issue 6, we've also published a couple of Top Stories, which explore—in plain language—some of the subtleties of the research in JRSE. The most recent is "Precise Heat Measurements Inform Aquathermal Energy Project Prospects," wherein Stuart Fox discusses the article "Mapping available Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion resources around the main Hawaiian Islands with state-of-the-art tools" with the author, Gérard C. Nihous.

Finally, look for an announcement in January 2011 about a new tradition in JRSE that will help focus the diverse nature of JRSE to better cover renewable energy sustainability research.

Thanks so much for helping make another amazing year of JRSE. Be sure to check back to the homepage, jrse.aip.org, for further updates.

All the best,

P. Craig Taylor
