The Accepted Manuscript Status Inquiry System is provided by the American Institute of Physics as a service to the author community. It allows authors to check the status of a manuscript (MS) that has been accepted for publication. There are eight items of information that pertain to the status of your paper within the production process. They are MS Received, Proof to Author, Author's Corrections Received, Article Published Online, Release To Printer, Issue On Line, Issue Mailed and Reprints Mailed.

An explanation of these fields appears below. For purposes of searching the database, case sensitivity is not an issue; you may enter material in either lowercase or uppercase.

You must enter an author's last name. It may be one of the first three authors only.

Example: Author's Last Name: Smith

You may enter either the Editor Code or the AIP ID Number. The Editor Code is the code number assigned the manuscript when it is first submitted to the editorial office for publication. The AIP ID Number is a nine digit code with six numbers and a three letter journal abbreviation assigned by the AIP Production department. One or the other must be entered. If you enter both, the Editor Code will be used. If you do not know the AIP ID Number, by entering the Author's last name and Editor Code, you will see the AIP ID Number on the information screen. Please note if AIP has not received your manuscript into the production department and an AIP ID Number has not been assigned yet, you will get the following error message: "The document contained no data ..."

Example: Editor Code: ABC42
or
AIP ID Number: 123456ABC
