Volunteer Russian translators needed!

17 March 2014

Russian holdingsDo you read Russian and want to put your skills to good use? The Niels Bohr Library and Archives (NBL&A) needs your help! We have a backlog of Russian language physics texts that require cataloging before we can add them to our collection. As a first step we need authoritative translations of the bibliographic information (author, title, etc.).

These books have come to NBL&A from a variety of donors over the years. Most are older, but they also include a recent gift of about 50 newer titles. We can send you scanned images of title pages, and translations can be submitted electronically. Otherwise, if you are local to the DC metro area and have the time, we would be glad to welcome you onsite for an hour or two. We’ll catalog the books based on your translations.

If you are interested, contact Assistant Librarian Elaina Vitale at evitale [at] aip [dot] org or 301-209-3182.
