AAPT is getting ready to publish a new book, Women in Physics—A Collection of Reprinted Articles in Honor of Melba Newell Phillips. The 18 articles first appeared in the American Journal of Physics, The Physics Teacher, Physics Today, and Physical Review, including reviews on gender issues in physics education, gender-related physics education research, biographical articles, and analysis of the role of women in science. Proceeds from the sale of Women in Physics will support the endowment of the Melba Newell Phillips Medal. Books may be preordered; the approximate ship date is June 1st. The book is available through AAPT’s Physics Store.
