Schematic of a possible experimental arrangement for the direct easurement
of the wavelength of Mossbauer radiation (in the x-ray part of the spectrum)
in terms of the wavelength of He-Ne laser light with the help of the
combined Fabry-Perot interferometer looking at both kinds of light.
Sapphire crystals are used as backscattering mirrors for the Mossbauer
radiation. Sapphire is transparent for visible light.
