Meson-Quark Model of the Nucleus
The new updated quark-meson coupling (QMC) model of the
nucleus takes into account both the fundamental interaction among quarks
(depicted as green, blue, and red circles) within the neutrons and protons
(pink balls) making up a typical nucleus and the interaction among the
neutrons and protons as depicted as meson interchanges between pairs
of quarks.
