Measuring Gravity at the Micron Scale
Atoms trapped in a region of space by laser light. Under the combined
force of gravity and the laser fields, the atoms vibrate in space in a process called
Bloch oscillation. Measuring this motion allows researchers to probe the strength of
gravity over micron scales.
