Helium-8

 

Comparisons of three helium isotopes: He-4, consisting of a core of two neutrons (blue balls) and two protons (red balls); He-6, consisting of the core surrounded by a two-neutron “halo”: and He-8, consisting of a core surrounded by two pairs of neutrons.
