Nanotube Diode

nanotube diode

An atomic force microscope picture of three gold electrodes (the yellow lines, A, B, C) spanned by a 1-nm-high single-wall carbon nanotube (red line). The nanotube is half doped and half un-doped, and shows a rectifier (that is, diode) behavior by allowing current in one direction only.
