ASA launches Digital Library on Scitation®

ASA Digital Library

For immediate release

Melville, NY, June 5, 2007 - The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) is pleased to announce the launch of the ASA Digital Library. The ASA Digital Library, hosted on AIP's Scitation® online publishing platform, can also be accessed via the ASA home page.

The new site provides a unified search interface and point of access for all of the Society's online content. Readers can search across all ASA content published online, including The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA), JASA Express Letters, Acoustics Research Letters Online (ARLO), acoustical standards, ASA e-books, and the newly published archives of its two magazines, Sound: Its Uses and Control and NOISE Control. Further, the Digital Library also provides links to information about ASA's other publications that are not available online, such as books in print and on CD- ROM, poster session collections, videos, and an auditory demonstration CD. By making all ASA-published content findable via this one portal, ASA hopes to facilitate research in the field of acoustics.

All institutional subscriptions to JASA now include - at no additional charge - full-text access to the following content hosted on the ASA Digital Library:

  • JASA Express Letters
  • Acoustics Research Letters Online
  • NOISE Control
  • Sound: Its Uses and Control

The ASA magazines, Sound: Its Uses and Control and NOISE Control, which were published from 1955 to 1962, have been added to the ASA Digital Library as bonus publications available to JASA subscribers. All journals and magazines on the ASA Digital Library are available from Volume 1, Issue 1.

Additional content, such as e-books and standards from the American National Standards Institute and International Organization for Standardization may be purchased separately via the ASA's online store.
