AIP to Provide Composition Services for Geophysics, a Publication of the Society for Exploration GeophysicistsMELVILLE, NEW YORK, 5 April 2006—The American Institute of Physics (AIP) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) have announced an agreement for AIP to provide composition services for the prestigious SEG journal Geophysics. AIP has hosted Geophysics and SEG’s The Leading Edge on its Scitation online platform since January 2002, and in 2005 launched the SEG Digital Library, which also provides access to Technical Program Expanded Abstracts and an electronic version of SEG’s best-selling Encyclopedic Dictionary of Applied Geophysics. AIP will deliver a range of services that include the conversion of author files to XML, typesetting from XML, delivering PDF proofs to authors, preparing corrected files for online and print publication, plus a host of other functions that contribute to an error-free, streamlined process. AIP will incorporate clearly rendered graphics files, and provide XML data feeds to bibliographic database aggregators.
