American Institute of Physics Selects Rightslink as Online Licensing Solution

For immediate release

MELVILLE, NY, February 15, 2005 – The American Institute of Physics (AIP) has implemented the Rightslink® licensing service to handle requests for permissions for reuse of AIP copyrighted material. Rightslink is a service of Copyright Clearance Center, Inc., a well-respected provider of copyright licensing and compliance solutions. AIP anticipates that Rightslink will enable users of its content to obtain copyright permissions easily and pay any related fees in a simple online process.

“Rightslink will provide users with a rapid process for obtaining permissions to reuse materials from AIP’s journals and those of the AVS – The Science and Technology Society and the Acoustical Society of America, all of which are hosted on AIP’s Scitation online platform,” said Martin Burke, AIP’s Publisher of Journals and Technical Publications. “It will make it easy for us to leverage the power of electronic networks to provide instant service on a 24/7 basis and make it faster and easier for customers to comply with copyright law.”
