AIP Launches Scitation Research Alerts – A New E-Mail Notification Service

MELVILLE, NEW YORK, 18 March 2005 AIP is pleased to announce the online launch of Scitation Research Alerts – the newest addition to its MyScitation features and personalization tools. Individual alerts are drawn from the Inspec Database, which provides nearly full coverage of the literature. The alerts will provide weekly e-mails containing the abstract of every article published within selected fields of research, in the thousands of scientific and technical journals indexed by Inspec, a service of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE). Individual alerts can be purchased on a per-subject basis.

Scitation Research Alerts consists of two related products: Scitation Alerts and Scitation Custom Alerts.

Scitation Alerts is a service that delivers a choice of pre-designed topical alerts from more than 120 physics-related subject areas. Scitation Alerts is designed for individual researchers and is available on a per subject basis.

Scitation Custom Alerts is for users whose subjects aren’t specifically covered by Scitation Alerts. Custom alerts are created by the subscriber to match their exact research interests, and can be edited any time these interests change.

Several societies and organizations currently publishing on the Scitation platform have chosen to contribute material to the Scitation Research Alerts service and have extended discount offers to their members. These societies include the American Physical Society, Acoustical Society of America, AVS Science & Technology Society, International Centre for Diffraction Data, Laser Institute of America, and Society of Rheology.
