Society of Information Display Selects Scitation® to Host its Online PublicationsFor immediate release LONDON, UK, 30 November, 2004 – The Society of Information Display (SID) recently launched two of its key publications on Scitation. The online platform is now home to SID's peer-reviewed Journal of the Society of Information Display, as well as the International Symposium Digest of Technical Papers. Hosting on Scitation brings to these journals a number of important electronic features, and greater functionality for subscribers. "Online publication will markedly increase the color content of each journal article, and will also make it possible to provide extensive cross-referencing capabilities," said Dr. Andras I. Lakatos, editor of the Journal of the Society of Information Display. "We will also take advantage of our move to electronic publishing by offering our users access to an online archive back to 1995." Taken together, backfiles for Journal of the Society of Information Display and International Symposium Digest of Technical Papers will provide users with more than 3,000 research articles online. Beginning in 2004, subscribers will also receive an annual CD-ROM containing the full text of the publication to which they subscribe. Rich Kobel, AIP Director of Publishing Services Sales, commented that "Scitation not only brings subscribers of SID publications powerful new online tools, but it also offers non-subscribers fast, easy access to a wealth of research via single-article purchase." The Journal of the Society of Information Display publishes original work dealing both with the theory and practice. Coverage includes hard and soft copy; associated materials, devices and systems; the underlying chemistry, physics, physiology and psychology; measurement techniques; and all aspects of the interaction between equipment and its users. Tutorials and review articles, including book reviews and letters on all of these areas are also published. The Society of Information Display International Symposium Digest of Technical Papers contains short, maximum four pages long, written summaries of oral and poster papers that have been presented at the annual Symposia of the SID. Each volume contains papers from a specific Symposium, selected for presentation by the Technical Program Committee of each Symposium. It is the most widely referenced publication in the field of displays, with each volume containing 200 to 400 papers. The following topics are represented in recent volumes: Active-Matrix Devices and Displays; Applied Vision and Human Factors; Backlighting Technologies; CRT's, Plasma Displays, and other Emissive Displays; Display Electronics; Display Manufacturing Technologies; Display Measurements; Display Systems; Flexible Displays; Liquid Crystal and other Non-emissive Displays; Organic Light Emitting Devices and Displays; Projection Displays; and Three-dimensional Displays.
