IEE Selects Scitation® to Host its Publications Online
For immediate release
FRANKFURT, GERMANY, OCTOBER 5, 2004 -- The Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) announced today that it has chosen the Scitation platform from the American Institute of Physics (AIP) to host its publications online. Along with current issues of IEE journals, magazines, conferences and symposia, readers will also find online archives of previous content from these publications. IEE titles will join a growing list of essential STM publications on Scitation.
"The selection of a leading platform in Scitation is an important step for The IEE" said Steven Mair, IEE Managing Director of Publishing. He emphasized, "Our new online editions will provide engineers around the world with significant new tools to enhance their work."
In addition to having all IEE publication types available in one unified online environment, users will enjoy many powerful features of the Scitation platform, including sophisticated browsing and searching, a complete suite of personalization tools, the ability to view articles online prior to print publication, extensive links to primary publishers and databases, and much more.
"We welcome the addition of these prestigious publications to Scitation, and look forward to the benefits this will bring to both IEE members and the physical science community," said Darlene Walters, AIP's Senior Vice President of Publishing.
IEE has an extensive and highly regarded roster of publications, including the journals Electronics Letters, Systems Biology, Medical and Biological Engineering & Computing (produced on behalf of The International Federation for Medical & Biological Engineering), and IEE Proceedings, which is published under thirteen titles containing current, original contributions in electrical, electronics, computing, control, and communications technology. IEE also publishes conference proceedings (Seminar Digests), along with seven magazines aimed at the practicing engineer and engineering manager.
"We’re delighted IEE has joined Scitation,” said Tim Ingoldsby, AIP’s Director of Business Development. “IEE’s content is an excellent complement to Scitation’s ever-growing archive of scientific and engineering-related material from publishers around the world.”
Launch of IEE publications is expected in early 2005.
