Dinosaur Deaths (Edition 40, No. 4) If the extinction of the dinosaurs was caused by a gigantic meteor that hit the earth 65 million years ago, as many scientists believe, then there should be traces of meteor dust in the geological record. A group of oceanographers are drilling into the ocean floor to look for it.
