Michael H. Moloney is the ninth CEO of the American Institute of Physics where he leads the federation’s programs serving the physical sciences community, including AIP’s ten Member Societies. Previously he was the Director for Space and Aeronautics at the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine—where in a 16-year career he worked on about 100 reports on physics, space sciences, materials science, aeronautics and many more topics. Moloney also spent 7 years as a foreign service officer for the Government of Ireland.
Stephen Mackwell joined the American Institute of Physics on February 1, 2019 as the Deputy Executive Officer. Previously he was the Corporate Director, Science Programs at the Universities Space Research Association (USRA). He has held several professorships at Rice University, Universitaet Bayreuth, and Pennsylvania State University, and a postdoc at Cornell University.
Catherine "Gigi" Swartz was elected Chief Financial Officer for AIP in June 2013. She joined AIP as the Assistant Treasurer in 1998 and was promoted to Controller and Assistant Treasurer in 2000. Gigi earned her MBA in finance from The George Washington University.
