Advancing Public Access Policy

Increasing access to scholarly work is a core value supporting AIP’s mission. AIP has been a vocal advocate and active participant, working to pragmatically expand public access while protecting the value that publishers bring to science and scholarship.

The Institute stresses the importance of involving all stakeholders — federal funding agencies, publishers, and research institutions — in the creation of public access policy. AIP has been instrumental in advancing such partnerships to develop and implement public access policy for the good of science and society.

AIP has endorsed the STM statement on open access. STM is an International Association of Scientific, Technical & Medical Publishers.
