Chip Calhoun, Digital Archivist
As we head into fall, we'll be looking at more of what goes on in the archives.
I’m Chip Calhoun, Digital Archivist at the Niels Bohr Library & Archives. I’ve been here since the summer of 2010. Before that I spent 3 years as a contractor at the Government Accountability Office, where I worked on library scanning projects, database design, and a bit of records management. At the Niels Bohr Library & Archives I'm responsible for our information systems, including the library catalog software and a couple of homegrown databases. I write the code underneath resources like the new Physics History Network and the finding aids for our archives collections. I also handle our electronic records, and I help to prepare our paper records for researchers and to put them online. Outside of work I devote most of my time to my two kids.
Follow us on Facebook and Twitter at @AIPhistory. This month I'll take you under the hood of our electronic resources, and show you some of the new material we're putting online.
