Eugene Shoemaker (right) of the United States Geological Survey was presented with the Gerald P. Kuiper Prize awarded by the American Astronomical Society's Division for Planetary Sciences at the DPS annual meeting in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Mrs. Sarah Kuiper Roth (left), the widow of Dr. Kuiper, made the presentation on behalf of DPS Chairperson Dr. Joseph A. Burns, of Cornell University.
