2014 US Physics Team starts boot camp at UMD

2013 US Physics Team

AAPT welcomed the 19 members of the US Physics Team and their five coaches to the University of Maryland campus last Wednesday, May 28, for 10 days of intensive training. To get there, they had to outperform more than 4200 of their peers from across the United States who engaged in the yearlong competition. Although more than half of those who made the team this year hail from California, most of seniors on the team will be headed to Cambridge, MA, this fall to attend MIT or Harvard. Five students will be chosen for the travelling team, to compete on the international stage in Astana, Kazakhstan, from July 13–21. All 10 of the AIP Member Societies lend support to this worthy program.
