The March for Science is a unique opportunity for the American Institute of Physics to embrace the diversity of the views of our Member Societies, some of whom have endorsed the march. As a federation, we are not taking a position on the march so that we can best serve the breadth of our Member Societies’ interests. We appreciate the value of the March for Science in mobilizing our extended community to increase awareness about the benefits of scientific research and foster participation in the political process.

AIP welcomes and encourages active engagement by scientists and those passionate about science. For decades, science has brought together communities, cultures and countries. Much of this is due to the thoughtfulness and fervent dedication of scientists to their work. We stand with the scientists and supporters who plan to march as one way of demonstrating this enthusiasm and commitment. We stand also with the many hundreds of thousands of scientists around the world who demonstrate this commitment every day through their research and teaching.
