The following reports and graphics present data on the number of faculty members, turnover, retirements, and recruitments at physics and astronomy degree-granting departments in the U.S. Issues regarding the proportion of women and minorities among physics faculty are addressed. These findings are based on data collected from the Academic Workforce Survey which the SRC has conducted every two years since 1986. There is also a data concerning physics faculty at two-year colleges.
