Results from the 2012-13 Nationwide Survey of High School Physics Teachers
We find remarkable consistency in the proportion of high school seniors attending a school where physics is offered from our first survey in 1986-86 through our most recent in 2012-13. About 95% of seniors in the U.S. attend a high school where physics is offered on a regular basis. In this report, we examine two factors which seem to affect the availability of physics in a state: the average size of schools in the state and the educational attainment of the population in the state.
