Abstract

In this interview, Dee begins with a brief biographical discussion, before speaking in detail about entering Cambridge and his experience with the tripos exams.  His discussion of his early scientitfic career focuses on his training under C.T.R. Wilson, and his work with James Chadwick, Sir John Cockcroft, Ernest Rutherford, Mark Oliphant.  The conversation then emphasizes his work with photographing and detecting events in nuclear physics, and the development of cyclotrons in Cambridge laboratories.  Throughout the interview, Dee discusses various aspects of working at Cavendish and the people there.
