Gene Sprouse

Gene SprouseGene D. Sprouse is currently the Editor in Chief of the American Physical Society. He is on leave from Stony Brook University, where he is a Distinguished Professor of Physics. Sprouse received his PhD from Stanford University in 1968, and is an experimental physicist.

He helped build the Stony Brook Superconducting LINAC, and then used it for studies of nuclei far from stability with laser spectroscopy and atom trapping methods.
