Mary Mogge

Dr. Mary E. Mogge is a Professor Emerita in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.  She still teaches part time in the department as part of the university’s early retirement program.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Carleton College, a Master of Arts in Physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a Ph.D. in Physics from The Florida State University.  

Dr. Mogge was a coach of the United States Physics Team for eleven years, serving as its academic director for seven years.  She has also served as co-chair of the AP Physics C Development Committee and as a member of the Physics GRE Committee. She served as department chair at Cal Poly for six years.  She has been president and section representative of the Southern California section of AAPT, vice chair and chair of the AAPT section representatives, is currently in the presidential chain of the national AAPT, and will serve as its president in 2015.
